(Reston, VA—May 1, 2017) High Tech senior
Vibha Chauhan, a resident of Jersey City, has been selected as a National
Semifinalist in the 2016-17 National Honor Society Scholarship Program,
announced Dr. Joseph Giammarella, Principal of High Tech High School.
The National Association of Secondary
School Principals (NASSP), parent organization of the National Honor Society
(NHS), has awarded more than $14 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS
members since 1946. This year, NASSP has
chosen 400 NHS National Semifinalists from over 9,000 applications. As one of the National Semifinalists, Chauhan
will receive a $2,325 scholarship.
NASSP, a national voice for middle level and high school principals, assistant principals, and aspiring school leaders, currently serves more than 27,000 members from across the United States and more than 45 countries around the world. Since 1916, NASSP has promoted excellence in school leadership. NASSP aims to help advance middle level and high school education by promoting high professional standards, focusing attention on school leaders' challenges, strengthening the role of the principal as instructional leader, and publicizing the issues and interests of members in the news media.
