of Japanese language education. It promotes
altruistic conduct through language and cultural activities. In order to qualify for JNHS, students must
maintain at least a B+ average in Japanese and a B average in their other

“I’m
proud to see my students awarded for their hard work and diligent study,” says
Akemi Dobkin, veteran teacher of Japanese Language and Culture. “The Japanese language isn’t easy for native
English speakers, but, just within two years, my students have grown to
understand more.”
