Bayonne Reads
Community-Wide Discussion a Success
Several Bayonne residents recently came together to participate in the kick off community event, Bayonne Reads: One Book, One Community. Modeled on programs like PBS’s The Big Read and the American Library Association's One Book, One Community, Bayonne Community Bank recently hosted one of the discussions based on the book, The Things They Carried, by author, Tim O'Brien. On October 23rd, 2019 participants gathered to share their views and personal experiences based on O’Brien’s gripping award-winning novel.
Ms. Maria Rubio, County Prep’s Graphic Technology teacher, through a Structured Learning Experience facilitated the creation of the Bayonne Reads logo with her students Edison Cheng and Diego Andrade. This logo will continue to be used as The Bayonne Reads symbol to represent their commitment to bringing people together to discuss important social issues in a safe and supportive environment.
