The Japanese National Honor Society (JNHS) honors and
encourages achievement and excellence in the study of Japanese, as well as
promotes altruistic conduct through Japanese-related activities. The American
Association of Teachers of Japanese (AATJ) assists Japanese Language teachers
with methods to recognize outstanding students, to encourage them to continue
the study of Japanese, and to promote activities that provide them with ways
that incorporate their language skills.
In
order to qualify for induction into JNHS, a student must maintain at least a B+
or above average in Japanese Language class and a B or better average in their
other high school courses.
